Vemdalen Ski Resort
Whilst Vemdalen does not have a huge ski area, the personal service you get, combined with a special children’s ski area, award winning ski school and the wealth of winter activities makes it the perfect resort for families and beginners. Off the beaten track and tranquil, the resort is truly perfect for those looking for a fairytale ski experience.
Beginners
The neat ski centre sits at the foot of a network of gentle, uncrowded runs where you can build your confidence in plenty of space. The many blue and green runs are a pure pleasure to practice on.
Intermediates
Vemdalen is ideal for intermediate skiers to whom varied terrain is essential. There are many blue and red runs for you to bound and glide about on, leading through forest aisles back to the valley.
Advanced
There are good off-piste opportunities for advanced skiers. In addition, there are nearly 300km (180 miles) of well-prepared cross-country skiing tracks in the region. There are also classes for those who want to learn freeriding as well.
Snowboarding
Vemdalen and Bjornrike are a snowboarder's paradise due to an array of boarder-friendly facilities and dedicated boarding areas. These include great board parks and varied terrain. An added extra is that all children receive a free helmet with all snowboard rentals and lessons.

Apres Ski
Après-ski is available throughout the week, but is best at the weekends, usually with live entertainment. Night skiing is also available, 2 - 3 times per week, with impressive floodlighting.

Eating Out
There are a number of bars and restaurant around Vemdalen and Bjornrike, offering the finest from the Swedish kitchen, such as salted fish and local meat, plus other continental dishes. The alcohol prices are relatively low compared to the other Scandinavian countries.
