Hemsedal Ski Resort

Renowned as the biggest and best ‘Alpine’ ski and aprés ski resort in Norway, Hemsedal and neighbouring Solheisen have a snow record which few European resorts can match, and a ski season usually stretching all the way from mid-November right through until May! Hemsedal is an ideal choice for an all round Norwegian holiday experience.

Beginners

Hemsedal is a marvellous location for beginners of all disciplines; whether it be alpine, cross-country or telemark skiing or snowboarding, the excellent English-speaking ski school will be able to instruct you! There’s a beginners area right at the mountain base and some wonderful long, easy runs to move on to.

Intermediates

Tremendous variety, with huge open snow-bowls above the tree line, giving way to a picturesque choice of trails winding down through the trees. This is a place where you can really ski non-stop, with uncrowded slopes, virtually no lift queues, and nearly 3.2kms of intermediate night skiing available 4 evenings per week.

Advanced

For the advanced skier, Hemsedal offers not only some good black pistes but also a wide range of off-piste skiing above and amongst the trees. The reliable snow record ensures that good powder can be found throughout much of the season.

Snowboarding

Hemsedal is a real up-and-coming riders resort. Having featured in a large article in Onboard magazine it is easy to see why. Hemsedal has some superb kickers in its boardpark and a pipe to session. Also Hemsedal has some great off-piste terrain, well worth checking out.
