Sestriere Ski Resort

Sestriere gained international renown during February 1997 when it hosted the World Cup Ski Races and it has been selected to host the 2006 Winter Olympics. Now an international resort, it is part of the famous “Milky Way” ski circuit, a magnificent area with over 400kms of pistes with excellent skiing for all grades in spectacular scenery. We have accommodation in Sestriere and its quieter neighbour, Borgata, only 3kms apart by road but conveniently linked by ski lifts and a four times daily bus service.

Beginners

Most of the beginners slopes fan out in an arc from the ski school meeting place in the centre of Sestriere with easy runs from the two baby lifts and the Jolly. To the right of the area are two further drag lifts, ideal for first timers.

Intermediates

Sestriere is an intermediates paradise. The skiing is on two main areas, Banchetta and Sises, offering plenty of choice from short mogul fields to long wide runs for cruising. An added bonus to the 20 lifts in the immediate Sestriere area is the amazing 96 lifts on the extensive Milky Way.

Advanced

The huge bowl of the Amfiteatro offers excellent skiing and the black runs at the top of Motta and Sises provide the expert with plenty of skiing. The famous Kandahar Slalom and Kandahar Banchetta runs are used in World Championship races.

Snowboarding

For freeriders there is some great powder to be had and the terrain should leave you smiling, freestylers there is an abundance of natural kickers and hits to launch off. Beginners couldn't want much more with great pistes for those first turns.
