Madesimo Ski Resort
Once discovered, skiers return to Madesimo year after year due to its consistent snow record and time-honoured Italian village magnetism. It is an efficient resort with modern ski facilities and ski school within easy walking distance from most hotels. The pistes are wonderfully clear mid-week and offer superb varied terrain, from the tree-dotted Lago Azzurro blues, to tricky high altitude slopes in the Val di Lei. The mountain restaurants boast great value, and the local pizzocheri dish is perfect for providing an energy boost come lunchtime. The quaint village has an ice skating rink and a sports centre for those with extra energy to burn or who are simply looking for a different way to spend the day. Those with an adventurous side will thoroughly enjoy the thrilling 69 Km panoramic skidoo trail that winds to the Swiss border. Après ski is similar to the appealing village itself; a cosy and pleasant affair.
