La Rosière 1850 Ski Resort
Set high above the Upper Tarantaise valley and on the route of the Petit St Bernard Pass (closed in winter) is La Rosière 1850 and the international ski area linking La Thuile in Italy to form the Espace San Bernardo. Enjoy fantastic views of the three major surrounding mountains, Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa before skiing wide open runs, many suitable to all standards of skier. The village is very traditional and very French and has all the ingredients for an excellent family skiing holiday.
Beginners

Complete beginners will soon make quick progress on the green runs by the Clarines and Lievre Blanc lifts. The wide open blue pistes just above La Rosière are then perfect for finding your feet and getting to grips with the turns, especially under the guidance of the expert local ski school.
Intermediates

This international ski area is ideal for intermediates that wish to clock up some mileage. Ski up to the Petit Saint Bernard Pass and the area around La Belvedere where there are some great blue and red runs. Take the Nuova and San Bernado runs, a total of 11kms, down to the village of La Thuile for a pasta lunch before returning via the Col de la Traversette chairlift, back to France.
Advanced

There are a total of 13 black runs in the international ski area as well as some fine off-piste skiing above the Petit Saint Bernard Pass which will keep the more experienced skier happy. There is also heliskiing (usually January to April) on the Ruitor glacier or the Miravidi for any skier who relishes a challenge.
Snowboarding

La Rosière is lift linked with La Thuile its Italian neighbour which means it is harbouring some amazing terrain. Freeriders will find some great spots to make their mark on the mountain and freestylers can try out the snowboard park.
