Montgenèvre Ski Resort
Montgènevre on the edge of the superb Milky Way, offers excellent skiing whilst the village itself still retains its charming and traditional village centre. Just 15 minutes from the Italian border, the Grand Galaxy lift pass extension covers the famous Franco-Italian Milky Way ski circuit with over 400km of piste as well as a day’s skiing in Serre Chevalier, Les 2 Alpes, Alpe d’Huez and Puy St Vincent. In addition, Montgenèvre plays host to a festival in January “Les Januades”. During the 3 weeks, there is jazz, cinema, theatre and cabarets every evening.
Beginners

Novices are well catered for on the gentle nursery slopes at village level. There is a limited local area day pass available which covers 6 drag lifts and one chairlift. The excellent ski school is led by a dynamic English speaking director.
Intermediates

Intermediate skiers are spoilt for choice in the Montgenèvre ski area. Popular descents include the wide pistes down from Les Anges and Le Querelay and the long red run from Le Chalvet at 2,680m.
Advanced

Extensions to the lift-pass covering different sections of the Milky Way (with over 400km of piste) can be purchased locally. Why not ski over to Italy down the black run into Cesana Torinese for lunch? Montgenèvre itself offers some exciting off-piste descents and bump runs especially in the Col de l’Alpet area.
Snowboarding

The huge Milky Way circuit offers over 250 miles of rideable terrain. Freeriders will enjoy the powder in the Le Chalvet bowl, and freestylers have loads of natural terrain to launch off as well as an ultra-modern snowpark. Beginners are also spoilt for choice with loads of blues and greens.
