Zell am Ziller

The beautiful town of Zell am Ziller is relatively new on the ski-fan’s map and is a wonderfully kept secret. The small, picturesque town lies in the heart of Ziller valley which was once a gold mining town in the 18th century. It has excellent ski facilities and is linked to four other ski areas in the Zillertal Arena ski domain. The Zillertal Arena is the largest skiing area in the Austrian Tyrol with skiing continuing all the way to neighbouring Gerlos which is a real hot spot for boarders. The season runs from December through until April and the tranquil barely-touched setting is a real skiers ‘gold mine’ in its own right.

Beginners

The glorious slopes that form Zell am Ziller are high enough to ensure a good snow coverage, giving learners both outstanding conditions to learn in and spectacular views to take in at the same time. The Lechner ski school allows adults and children alike to build up confidence on the wide and gentle nursery slopes.

Intermediates

There are countless red slopes for those with experience to choose from in the resort itself and in the surrounding ski areas.

Advanced

There is a good number of challenging black slopes that will exhilarate and surprise you. For those who fancy a change from the piste, there is 25 Km’s of cross country trails to explore.
