Switzerland is generally considered the Rolls Royce of European ski resorts and is probably the most expensive skiing in Europe.

However, what you are guaranteed in Switzerland's ski resorts is quality. Standards are high - Nothing is cheap. For cheap read poor quality, not inexpensive. In Switzerland's ski resorts prices may be higher , however, you get what you pay for.

Many of Switzerland's ski resorts are high up the mountain, however, unlike French ski resorts, they have developed from farming communities and remain thriving communities. Therefore many resorts have retained their village feel, a real plus when compared with some of the rather soulless purpose built ski resorts elsewhere.

The skiing in Switzerland is excellent and varied, although the ski resort standards are yet to match those in France.

In Switzerland the railways play an important part. You transfer from your arrival airport to your ski resort in Switzerland is often by train. Trains also run to the top of many mountains and double as ski lifts in Switzerland.
